12 Days of Christmas Countdown.

On the first day of christmas my true love sent to me A Partridge in a Pear Tree.

How about… For the first day of christmas count down we make salt dough ornaments for our christmas tree.

Yes I like my verse much better.

The song is not my favorite. I am more of a Jingle Bells Girl. 🙂

The salt dough recipe I used I found on pinterest through ABCStoACTS.com..  the recipe was super easy, however I found that the dough still felt a bit soft after cooking, if it was cut out to thick, or exposed to humidy. Which in Florida, is hard to avoid.

The Modge Podge I used, was from the Dollar store.. Dollar Tree precisely.

If you would like to see the ornament ideas I chose to make, your are welcome to visit my pinterest site and check out my board DIY XMAS.

Easy Toilet Paper Roll Mummies

Needed Supplies

  • Toilet Paper Rolls
  • Toilet paper, Napkins or paper towels
  • Googly Eyes
  • Hot Glue Gun/ Elmers glue
  • Scissors
  1. Cut 1 roll in strips to make arms, cut strips in 1/2 and fold  1 end to make a tab.
  2. Cut or tear strips of paper and use elmers glue or glue stick and glue paper around the whole roll.
  3. Glue arms onto mummies, using elmers glue or hot glue gun.
  4. Glue googly eyes onto mummy using elmers glue or hot glue gun. (Hot glue gun, makes for quicker drying for the eyes, so mummy can stand up faster)

Yummy Oreo Spiders

Don’t Step on the spiders this coming halloween, Drown them in Milk.
An easy & fun activity you can do with the kids.

  • Oreos
  • Black licorice
  • Red piping icing
  • White frosting
  1. Separate the Oreos by twisting them apart gently.
  2. Cut the 2 licorice into thirds and set aside.
  3. Add a layer of white frosting to each top and bottom of the Oreos
  4. Place the pieces of licorice at an angle on each side of the cream Oreo, fit three pieces on each side… (4 if your able to fit them)
  5. Put the tops of the Oreos over the licorice spider legs and push down gently. (you want the licorice pieces to stay in place and the frosting to not smush out.)
  6. Use the red/green piping icing to pipe 2 small dabs close together for the spiders eyes.
  7. Let the whole things dry and enjoy them.
